Bruno

Burno Movie Poster

Ok, as we all guessed, this movie is hilarious! Not only did I pee myself (and brings the worst out in gay-haters), but the movie actually had heart!

Favorite parts:

the swingers party
cage fighting
hunting
sex with his midget asian style boyfriend, lol :)

The only question now is....what character with SBC do next???

Def only 1 REDBULL!!!! :)

Religulous

So I finally got to watch Religulous today, and I'm a big fan of Bill Maher. He's usually right. Usually.... But I must admit, I was not that impressed with his documentary, and this saddens me. :(

First off, we must admit that most, if not, ALL documentaries are one-sided. There's always two sides to any story, no matter what, hands down, even if one side is more MORAL than POLITICAL, but at least let the other guy talk...

In his film, Bill travels to all different parts of the world to debate the concept of religion with other people. But does he really debate? I would have to say that in 90% of the movie, he TALKS OVER what his "opponents" are trying to say. He barely lets them get a word in, and if he does, he just calls them stupid. But who is he to judge???

Now, I am hardly a religious person (I believe in God, but I'm gay, so you do the math, lol), but I at least like to think of myself as OPEN MINDED and UNDERSTANDING of other people and their beliefs. But if Bill Maher was trying to find a "purpose" for religion with his documentary, I hate to admit that it didn't come across that way. All I saw was a guy who just wanted to go around and prove HIS point to people who saw differently than he did. And although I AGREE with most of his beliefs, it just made me angry that he want around trying to FORCE people to see his views as well, when I think the whole concept of religion is based on one's own PERSONAL beliefs. If all religions learned to accept the fact that other people should have the right to believe something different, this world would be a much different place...and Bill Maher doesn't help by showing his views down other people's throats. If you ask me, that's pretty religious of him... :)

I give this movie 3 REDBULLS!!!
(...because I would need 3 Redbulls to stay awake to watch it again...)

Run, Forest Run!

Another classic that makes me miss the movies of my childhood.... :)

Air Force One

Read my review about The Rock.....I feel the same way about this movie.... :)

The Rock

Watched "The Rock" the other night and forgot how good of a movie this is. I mean, first off, I love that Sean Connery is in jail for being an ex-British secret agent (I'm a huge James Bond fan, lol).

Next, the set up of the story is flawless. Cage is about to have a baby. Connery is still a loving father after so many years. Harris can't fully commit to his beliefs. It's all right there, there's never a dull moment.

And the action is also superb! There's not to much, not too little, the confrontation is always intense. There's not a sequence in the movie that is there just for action. It's all there for a reason, and that's what makes this film so great.

Hollywood doesn't make many movies like this anymore....and why not? What happened? It's only been 10 or so years since this movie came out. So why is it that movies from 10 years or more look so much more "real" than the blockbusters of today??? Where'd you go wrong, Hollywood...

Olivia and Rich's Wedding

This weekend, I attended one of the most AMAZING weddings I've ever been to!  My friend, Olivia, who I know from back home in Massachusetts, followed me to Point Park University in Pittsburgh where she met her fiance, Rich, and they finally got married last Friday, July 3rd.  This has been a year and a half in the making, but they have been dating for about 4 years now.  Here's what I loved about the wedding:

1.   My friends from Andover were there
2.  My friends from Point Park were there
3.  It rained right before the ceremony, but then stopped, and Olivia's brother, Luke, and Rich's best man, Kevin, played "Here Comes the Sun" as
an intro hymn....and the sun came out... :)
4.  Olivia smiled at me during the ceremony

5.  There was an open bar for most of the night, lol
6.  The wedding party did a medley of horrible MT numbers, but it was priceless!  ;)
7.  Their wedding cake was made of cupcakes
8.  The photographer was orgasmic!!!  www.hinkleyphotoblog.com
9.  I got to dance for most of the evening
10.  They had a photo booth and I got to play dress up
11.  The food was buffet style
12.  The colors were GORGEOUS!!!  (purples, white, and hot pink!)
13.  Rich and Olivia were happy... :)

A video montage of all the pictures I took is soon to follow.... :)

In the meantime, my BEST to Rich and Olivia, and I KNOW they love each other as much as I love them!  CONGRATS, you guys!  :)

Run, Fatboy Run

Thought I wasn't gonna like this movie, but I ended up loving it!  The plot was very sweet, passionate, and heartfelt, and the acting was natural, simple, and beautiful.  I loved Hank Azaria, even though he was the bad guy, lol.  And Simon Pegg finally made me look at him as a true actor.

I give this movie 1.5 REDBULLS
(meaning I would only need 1 and a half Redbulls to stay awake during this film...)

Well done, fatboy!  ;)
